South Carolina Midwives is an independent directory of midwifery practices and birth centers. We are not a healthcare provider, licensing authority or professional association, and we are not affiliated with the practices listed.
How listings are researched
We use Google search and professional associations to discover practices, review their public websites, and link to state licensing resources. Each profile includes the URLs reviewed and the fields those sources support. Our initial collection was researched on September 17, 2026.
When a practice website conflicts with an older directory, we generally use the practice’s own published information and record the discrepancy. Unknown details stay unknown. A website’s claims about credentials are not the same as a completed licensing check.
What this directory does and does not tell you
Listings show published locations, care settings and selected practical details. They do not establish clinical quality, safety, availability or suitability for an individual pregnancy. No initial listing has an independently verified license badge.
The collection is not exhaustive. The collection includes home birth practices, birth centers and hospital-based midwifery teams across several South Carolina regions, with an emphasis on the Upstate. Multi-midwife teams are grouped by practice. Directory results are alphabetical. The homepage shows examples, not a ranking.
Corrections and inclusion
Providers and readers can suggest corrections or additional practices. Changes need a public source or direct confirmation of business details. Do not send patient information. Basic inclusion and factual corrections are intended to remain free.
How the site may be supported
There are currently no paid rankings. Future advertisements or sponsored placements will be clearly labeled and kept separate from license status and factual corrections. Payment will never buy a verification badge.
